The short answer
Section titled “The short answer”Hygon (x86 CPUs) and Moore Threads (GPUs) are Tier B on this site: we document official support boundaries and driver entry points, but we do not publish performance scores without the hardware on the bench.
Neither vendor is a drop-in “Windows 11 consumer PC” recommendation. Support depends on the OEM system, firmware, driver package and the exact Windows build.
- Hygon designs x86-64 server/workstation processors for OEM systems.
- Windows support is OEM/system-specific. A CPU being x86-64 does not put it on Microsoft’s supported processor list for Windows 11.
- Drivers (chipset, NIC, storage, BMC) come from the server/motherboard vendor, not from a generic Windows Update package.
- Server roles and drivers may target Windows Server, not Windows 11 Pro.
Do not assume a desktop Windows 11 ISO will install and be supported on a Hygon platform. Check the OEM’s OS support matrix first.
Moore Threads
Section titled “Moore Threads”- Moore Threads (MTT) produces discrete GPUs (for example the MTT S-series) with Windows drivers from the vendor.
- Driver availability and game compatibility vary by model and driver branch; check the official download page for your exact card.
- A Windows driver existing does not mean every DX11/DX12 title is validated. Treat compatibility as a per-title question.
- No performance claim is made here. We have no MTT hardware in the lab.
What we will publish
Section titled “What we will publish”| Evidence | What it supports |
|---|---|
| Vendor driver page | Driver exists for a model/OS |
| OEM support matrix | The system is sold with Windows support |
| Our lab install | E2: it boots and the driver loads |
| Measured workload | M-V/M-P: relative performance, with method |
Without the last two, a page stays a support-boundary page.
Buying checklist
Section titled “Buying checklist”- Does the OEM explicitly support Windows 11 (not only Linux/Server)?
- Is there a Windows driver for the exact model and build?
- Are the applications/games you need validated?
- Is there a return window and a support contact?
- Can you get firmware/driver updates without a vendor account maze?
